Area Beaches: Playa Junquillal, Playa Negra, and Playa Grande Costa Rica
A short walk down a marked trail takes Tierra Pacifica residents to magnificent local beaches of Playa Junquillal. Regular visitors and residents of Junquillal consider Playa Junquillal Costa Rica to be one of the country's hidden gems, a relatively secluded area that has not experienced the rapid growth seen in many other coastal communities. The pristine beaches offer an ideal place to unwind to the sound of the surf. Several reefs in the area provide excellent snorkeling and lobster diving. Offshore there is world-class sport fishing.
Throughout the year, the surf directly in front of Tierra Pacifica is consistently rideable. Many internationally renowned surf breaks dot this part of Costa Rica’s so-called Gold Coast and are easily accessible by car from Junquillal. To the north are Playa Negra Costa Rica, Playa Grande Costa Rica, Witches Rock and Ollie’s Point.
 Just 15 minutes away is Playa Avellanas, which features a river mouth, point break and numerous beach breaks. Only three miles away is Playa Negra Costa Rica, the famous right-hand barrel machine that won surfers’ accolades in the movie “Endless Summer 2.” And a bit further north you'll find Playa Grande Costa Rica. To the south lie other great surfing beaches such as Marbella, Ostional and Nosara.
Here we will give a description of the well known beaches in the area, like Playa Junquillal Costa Rica and Playa Negra Costa Rica. However there are many more beaches, like Playa Grande Costa Rica and other more secluded beaches in the area waiting to be discovered by you.
Playa Junquillal Costa Rica
This is the closest beach to Tierra Pacifica. Playa Junquillal Costa Rica is just a short ten minute walk down the beach trail you will find one of the most beautiful and private beaches in Costa Rica.
Playa Negra Costa Rica
What can we say? Playa Negra Costa Rica is one of the most consistent breaks in Costa Rica. Once you get barreled here you will know what all the hype is about.
